Training times and location
Roadkill Rollers is a mixed gender league that trains twice a week on Tuesday and Friday at 8:30 PM at Sporthal De Horstacker in Nijmegen.
We are affiliated with the upper-level Market Gardeners team that also trains in Nijmegen. View their Facebook page for more info.
Newbies aka “Fresh Meat” and A-team
Our league is open to skaters 18+ of all sizes, experience levels and genders. New members join the so-called Fresh Meat. After you’ve mastered the basic skating skills and know the derby rules, you can join the A-team and enter in scrimmages and games. Both teams train the same days, but on different tracks and with their own trainer(s). We always start with a warming-up together and often grab a drink after training, gezellig!
Non-skating officials (NSOs)
Non-skating officials are a vital part of roller derby. They keep track of the scores, penalties, game time and such. Roadkill Rollers gladly welcomes NSOs at a discount membership.
Come roll with us
It’s always possible to come roll with us and experience the awesomeness of being on skates. We’ll loan you derby skates and gear and you can join a training on a Tuesday or Friday with other ‘Fresh Meat’. It’s ok if you’ve never been on skates, most of us started out like that. After you’ve let the training sink in, you can let us know if you’d like to become part of the Roadkill Rollers.
